For better or for worse

If everything was better, we would have no need for the word better itself.
For better or for worse.
As everything gets worse, we have more room, more opportunity,
More hope for the best.
If everyone had everything they needed or wanted,
There would be no reason whatsoever for us to communicate
With each other or with God for that matter.
If we had enough love, and if love was a permanent substance
to be planted only once and never watered,
there would be no need to look for more.
No better,
No worse.
